To do this a lot of girls, as my bestie Sonya suffers from dark underarms.
Where she is really embarrassed and hates it. She even has the trifecta with having dark knees, elbow and underarms, so I did a little research for her and basically found this method.
The results are like wow and I really wanted to share with you guys the results of how it has been working for her underarms.
This is what she has been doing is really been helping her in terms of kind of naturally lightning these areas and so I wanted to do this post and just share with you guys.
So that’s all that this page is going to be about how to lighten dark underarms with baking soda.
So let’s go ahead and jump into it.
What You’re Going To Need:
So the first ingredient is baking soda, and then you need either lemon or lime.
We used lemon for Sonya’s experiment.
A bit of water and of course a bowl to mix everything into place.
I’m also going quickly go over each ingredient and tell you why I’m using each of the ingredients before I do that.
Roll your lemon, and lime on the bench like a rolling pin to soften up things. It helps to get more juice from it.
You want to go ahead and cut your lemon or lime into two pieces.
You want to remove the seeds in there because it can be very harsh on the skin.
So make sure that you take out the seeds.
There isn’t really a measurement as such for this.
It’s more trial and error when mixing this up.
Our first mix went like this.
I used 2 spoonfuls of baking soda and placed it into the bowl.
Then I added a spoon full of water into the bowl and just mix it until you get a nice paste consistency.
You don’t want it to be too watery, but you don’t also want it to be too thick you just want it to be perfect.
So just a nice paste consistency
So just mix it up to you get a nice paste then you just going to go ahead and just squeeze a little bit of the lemon or the lime juice in there, whichever you have.
You will see a bit of the bubble.
Don’t worry about it, just add a little tiny bit of juice into the mix and then just give it a nice stir, and then you’re all good to go.
So the key here is just to make sure it’s not too runny.
Just mix it to you get a nice even texture. You want it so when you rub it on under ya arms it will stay and not run down ya pits.
Now what we did is use the lemon and just moisturize the area first. run it over the area we treated.
So this is going to basically clean the area and the surface of the underarms. Lemon juice as we all know is a natural bleach with whitening dark areas.
It has an antibacterial and antiseptic agent that helps prevents body odor.
So go in first with the lemon/lime and then go in with the past.
In the past, you just gently massage that into the underarms very gently and you know baking soda helps as an exfoliant for dead cells and removes damaged skin.
It’s also a natural skin lightening while it also reducing the production of melanin and also acts as a natural deodorant.
So once you’ve applied that and you let it dry for about 20 minutes, then take a wet or very damp towel and just gently wipe underneath.
Once you wipe that off you want to also go ahead and either take a shower or rinse that off with lukewarm water.
Keep doing this for a week or two and you will be amazed at the differences it makes.
Making your own does take time and effort and as you can see at least a good 1/2 to 3/4 of an hour plus time spent buying the ingredients.
